Features of folding boxes
1. Save space and store conveniently
The biggest highlight of folding boxes is the foldable design. When not in use, the box can be folded through a special structure, and the volume is greatly reduced, usually compressed to 1/3 of the unfolded size or even smaller. This feature allows it to be easily stored in small corners when idle, such as the gaps between warehouse shelves and the corners of home storage rooms, greatly saving storage space. Whether it is corporate material storage or household daily necessities storage, it can effectively improve space utilization and avoid idle containers occupying too much space resources.
2. Easy to transport and reduce costs
The folded box is small in size and light in weight, which can significantly reduce transportation costs during transportation. Compared with traditional fixed-structure boxes, the same transport vehicle can load more folding boxes and reduce the number of transportation trips. Taking the logistics industry as an example, after the goods are delivered, the folding box is folded and recycled, and takes up less space during return transportation, reducing empty-load losses and improving transportation efficiency and economic benefits. In addition, for scenarios where the use location needs to be frequently transferred, such as exhibition layout and temporary warehousing, the folding box is easy to carry and transport, making it an ideal choice.
3. Quick installation and simple operation
The installation process of the folding box is very simple and does not require professional tools and complex operating skills. Users only need to follow the established folding and unfolding steps to complete the assembly of the box in a short time, usually within a few minutes by one person. This fast installation feature enables it to perform well in emergency demand scenarios such as emergency rescue and temporary office space construction, and can respond to needs quickly and provide temporary space solutions in a timely manner.
4. Sturdy, durable, safe and reliable
Despite its foldable characteristics, the folding box still ensures sufficient strength and stability in structural design. The box is made of high-strength materials, such as high-quality plastics and alloys, which can withstand a certain weight of cargo loading and is not easy to deform and damage. Some folding boxes also have waterproof, moisture-proof, and corrosion-resistant properties. Even if used in harsh environments such as outdoor and humid environments, they can effectively protect the safety of internal items and ensure the reliability and durability of use.
5. Flexible and versatile
The sizes and specifications of folding boxes are diverse, which can meet the diverse needs in different scenarios. In the commercial field, it can be used for the storage, turnover and transportation of goods, in family life, it can be used as a storage container for clothing, toys, books and other items, in outdoor activities such as camping and picnics, it can be used to store food, tableware and other supplies. In addition, by combining multiple folding boxes, temporary shelves, display stands, etc. can be constructed, which has strong flexibility and versatility.
Technical parameters of folding boxes
I. Dimension parameters
(I) Standard size
Common folding boxes have various combinations of length, width and height when unfolded. Common sizes of folding boxes are 20 feet or 40 feet. After folding, the height can generally be compressed to 1/3 - 1/5 of the unfolded height, which is convenient for storage and transportation.
(II) Dimension tolerance
In order to ensure the adaptability and stacking stability between folding boxes, the dimensional tolerance is strictly controlled. The tolerance in the length and width direction is usually within ±2mm, and the tolerance in the height direction is within ±3mm, ensuring the accuracy when multiple boxes are used in combination.
II. Material parameters
(I) Rock wool material
The rock wool used in folding boxes is generally made of natural rocks such as basalt and dolomite as the main raw materials, and is made into inorganic fibers through high-temperature melting and centrifugal blowing. Its bulk density usually ranges from 80 to 150kg/m³. The higher the bulk density, the better the compressive strength and thermal insulation performance of the rock wool. Thermal conductivity ≤ 0.044W/(m・K), with excellent thermal insulation performance, can effectively reduce heat transfer. At the same time, the combustion performance of rock wool reaches the A-level non-combustible standard. It will not burn when exposed to open flames, nor will it produce toxic smoke. The fire resistance limit is ≥1 hour, which can provide reliable protection for items in the box in emergency situations such as fire.
(II) Protective layer material
In order to protect the rock wool and enhance the practicality of the folding box, its exterior is usually wrapped with a protective layer. Common protective layer materials include color steel plates, with a thickness of generally 0.4-0.6mm. The color steel plate coating uses polyester (PE) or fluorocarbon (PVDF), which has good weather resistance, impact resistance and decorative properties, high-strength fiber cloth is also used as a protective layer. This material is light in weight, flexible, and has certain waterproof and wear resistance.
III. Performance parameters
(I) Load-bearing performance
The static load-bearing capacity of a small folding box is generally 5kg - 15kg, and the dynamic load-bearing capacity is 3kg - 10kg, the static load-bearing capacity of a medium-sized folding box can reach 15kg - 30kg, and the dynamic load-bearing capacity is 10kg - 20kg, the static load-bearing capacity of a large folding box is 30kg - 50kg, and the dynamic load-bearing capacity is 20kg - 35kg. In the stacked state, the bottom box needs to bear the weight of multiple boxes and goods on the upper layer, and the designed load-bearing capacity will be increased accordingly. The box structure must ensure that it will not deform or be damaged within the load-bearing range.
(II) Weather resistance
In the high temperature environment test, the folding box needs to be placed in a 70℃ environment for 24 hours, and the rock wool and the protective layer will not separate or deform, the low temperature environment test requires that after being placed in a -20℃ environment for 24 hours, it can still be folded and unfolded normally without brittle cracks. At the same time, through the ultraviolet aging test, the long-term exposure environment outdoors is simulated to ensure that the protective layer will not fade or powder significantly during long-term use, and maintain the protective effect on the rock wool.
(III) Sealing
Some folding boxes with sealing functions use sealing structures such as silicone sealing strips. They have passed the IPX4 waterproof level test and can prevent liquids from splashing into the box from all directions. Since rock wool itself does not absorb water, good sealing can prevent external moisture from invading, ensuring that the insulation and fireproof properties of the folding box are not affected in a humid environment, and effectively protecting the items in the box.
IV. Structural parameters
(I) Folding method and structural design
Common folding methods include half-folding without buckle type, half-folding without buckle + lock type, four-fold type, etc. The half-folding without buckle type has a simple structure and is easy to operate, the half-folding without buckle + lock type adds a lock design on the basis of the half-folding without buckle, and the structure is more stable after folding, the four-folding type has a smaller volume after folding, which is suitable for scenes with extremely high requirements for storage space. The opening and closing times of the folding structure of the box are generally ≥5000 times, ensuring that it is not easy to be damaged by long-term frequent use. In the process of folding and unfolding, the rock wool is tightly combined with the protective layer without falling off or damage.
(II) Stacking design
The top and bottom of the folding box are designed with concave and convex grooves or reinforcing ribs to facilitate accurate positioning and stable support during stacking. When stacking, the misalignment between the boxes does not exceed 5mm to ensure the stability of stacking. Generally, it can withstand the stacking pressure of 8-10 layers of boxes of the same specification without deformation or damage. At the same time, the stacking structure design needs to take into account the characteristics of rock wool to avoid uneven density of rock wool due to extrusion, which affects the overall performance.
